Building Types Revisited

In the previous post on this issue I didn't take into account how much space the buildings took up. Here's another crack at the analysis:

This works on the assumption that the "size" field indicates the amount of space on the road that the building takes up. I could be wrong and it might be the "footprint" field that indicates this instead, in which case the "Space Efficiency" column would be incorrect. It would be great if someone could test this out. :D

Anyway here's the new rankings:

  1. Green House
  2. Nova Tower Block
  3. The Grid Building

Here's the spreadsheet again:

Does the City Centre Cottage really use up more space than the Grid Building?

Not sure :D Haven't got any money left to test the theory!

Do you think the footprint field is the correct indicator of road usage?

The footprint number determines where the little red marker goes when you click a road.
I'm not sure what else it can be used for.

just wanted to say this is a great spreadsheet - just wondering where you came up with such precise measurements? was it the specs from the google sketchup buildings? i can't see how height really fits into game though..?

Nah its a data dump from the game. :P
The height is quite simply the height of the image of the building.
