have a look here:

Did a bit of maths to try and work out which is the best type of building to use. It depends on two things:

  • How long your road is
  • How quickly you want to make more money

Have come up with the following table, given the rental yields expressed for Western Avenue in Bournemouth, UK

and here is the spreasheet with the calculations:

Top Three for rental yield are:

  • Green House
  • The Grid Building
  • Nova Tower Block

Top Three for most rent per plot are (predictably):

  • Monopoly Tower
  • Sky High Tower
  • Graduating Megastructure

Overall combined Top Three are:

  • Sky High Tower
  • Blanco Bastion
  • The Photat Building

Anyone else done any Mathematical Analysis?

I do believe you forgot to analyze the Grid Building (500K).

Cyrilix, thank you very much for your eagle-eyed oversight! Have corrected screenshot, spreadsheet and top three lists accordingly!

Have you come to any strategic conclusions for post-reset buying?

Yes, I have, actually. Although I've been quite fortunate to have no one demolish my buildings, I think I should attempt to not put all my eggs in one basket (single 1m property with all my houses on it) after someone dropped a hazard on me yesterday...

Edit: BTW, Could you explain how you came about the space efficiency numbers? It seems to me like the 50K house may be even more efficient than the 75K house, given how many of them you can place in a small area.

I think the trick is to go for the biggest building you can (although some are better than others) because the game is 4 months long.

Even in the few days the game has been running now, places are getting quite congested.
While you can sell your buildings, its still a nightmare to do if you've spammed small buildings.

And shorter streets are better than longer ones. Easier to fill up completely (so no hazards), and it causes you to diversify.
If you have many short streets, rather than few long ones, hazards have less of a effect.

Thank you very much for the analysis, this effort it sooooo much appreciated!

However, they really piss me off by changing the daily rent of some of the buildings without notifying anyone. Or could it be i've just been leveled up?
I don't have the full picture now but the one I can definitely tell is the daily rent of Green House is now half of what's before!

Hmm, it's seems the rent is different on different streets I own, still trying to figure it out.

Actually scratch what I last said.

The rent of the building is affected by the cost of the road its on.
If you have a 3 million dollar road, then the rent for your houses is multiplied by 3..
If you have a 0.5 million dollar road then the rent is halved.
